Getting started

How do I activate my website?

Go to the activation page and enter your Etsy order number or the activation code we sent you, with your email address.

On Etsy, the order number is under You → Purchases and reviews → order details. Bought directly from us? Your code is in the message we sent.

Then add the names and choose your site address, and you go straight into the editor.

Activate your website
It says my Etsy order hasn't arrived yet

Etsy can take up to 2 hours to pass new orders to us. You don't need to wait on the page: we'll email your sign-in link as soon as the order arrives.

Bought more than 2 hours ago? Check the number against your Etsy receipt, then email us if it still isn't found.

How do I sign in again?

There's no password. Enter your email on the sign-in page and we'll send you a link. Each link works once, for 24 hours.

Once you're in, that device stays signed in for 60 days.

No email? Check your spam folder, look for "Sign in to …" from us, and make sure it's the email you activated with.

Can I change my site address?

Yes, until you publish. In the editor, open Names & date and change Site address. Links you've already shared or printed keep the old address, so change it before sending invitations.

Once your site is published the address is fixed, because guests and printed invitations use it.

I bought this as a gift

Activate it with your own email and set it up, or leave it for them. When you're ready to hand it over, email us with their address and we'll move it to them.

Building your site

What do I need before publishing?

The Content tab starts with four essentials: Names & date, Venue, Cover photo and the RSVP deadline. A green tick shows each one that's done.

Everything under Optional sections can wait, or be switched off.

Open the editor
What does "Sample" mean?

New sites come filled with example text so you can see how each section looks. Sections still showing it are marked Sample.

Change the text and the mark goes. If the example suits you, open the section and press Keep it (or These are right, for the essentials).

Do my changes show on the site straight away?

No. The editor saves as you type, but guests only see your site after you press Publish. After that, press Publish changes whenever you want new edits to go live.

The status at the top tells you where you are: Not published yet, Unpublished changes, or Published · all changes live.

How do I hide a section?

Each optional section has a switch. Turn it off and the section is hidden from your site, with its content kept in case you want it back.

Can I change the design?

Your site uses the design you bought. In the Design tab you can pick one of its accent colours to make it yours.

The event type (wedding, baptism, birthday…) can be changed under Names & date. It changes the wording and name fields, and keeps your content.

Adding photos and videos

Cover: a photo, or a short video that plays muted behind your names. 10–30 second clips work best.

Gallery: up to 24 photos or short clips, which play muted on loop, up to 60 seconds each.

Video section: upload an MP4 or MOV up to 500 MB, or paste a YouTube or Vimeo link. Guests watch this one with sound.

Keep the editor open while a video uploads and processes. If you close it, upload the video again.

Meal choices, extra questions and separate events

Open the RSVP section and choose "Meals, questions and more". There you can add meal choices (including kids' meals), ask guests to reply separately to each event (say, ceremony and reception), and add your own questions.

You can also ask each guest for dietary notes, and get an email each time someone replies.

What happens after the reply deadline?

Guests see "Replies have closed", along with your contact email if you've added one in the RSVP section. To keep taking replies, tick "Keep accepting replies after the deadline".

Can I edit on my phone?

Yes. On a phone the editor shows one half at a time: use the Edit / Preview switch at the bottom to see your changes.

Your guest list

How do I add my guest list?

In the editor's Guests tab, drop in a CSV file. Download the template there to see the columns: household, first name, last name, email, phone and plus-one.

Use one row per guest. Guests with the same household name share one invitation and reply together.

Working in Excel or Google Sheets? Use File → Download → CSV.

Import guests
Adding or changing a household by hand

On Guests & RSVPs, press Add household. Click a household's name to edit it: rename guests, add or remove them, mark a guest as a child, allow a plus-one or move a guest to another household.

Guests & RSVPs
What are the invite code and number?

Each household gets its own invite code (like AM-K7Q3XP) and link, plus a 4-digit number.

The link opens the reply form with the code filled in. A guest who has lost the code can choose "Lost the code? Use your name" and enter their name and number instead.

You can find both on Guests & RSVPs, and copy a household's link from there.

Invitations and replies

How do I send invitations?

Publish your site first, so the links work. Then on Guests & RSVPs press Send invitations. You can:

• Email a themed invitation to every household with an email address.

• Send each household its link by WhatsApp, Viber or SMS, or any app on your phone. Households with a mobile number open straight to their chat.

• Print cards: one per household, with a QR code, the code and the number. Print at home or save as a PDF.

Guests & RSVPs
Where do I see replies?

Guests & RSVPs shows each household's reply, meals and plus-ones, with new replies marked. Filter by status or meal, search by name or code, and see the answers to your questions.

Export CSV downloads everything, for your caterer or seating plan.

Reminding guests who haven't replied

Press "Send reminder to pending" on Guests & RSVPs. It emails households that haven't replied and have an email address, and can skip anyone reminded in the last 7 days.

A guest replied by phone or in person

Open their household and set each guest to Attending or Declined, with their meal. Replies you record don't email anyone, and guests can still change them with their code.

Can guests change their reply?

Yes. They open their link or enter their code again, up to your reply deadline (or later, if you keep accepting replies).

Still stuck?Write to help@milesrsvp.com with your site address, and we'll get back to you.
